Understanding the Defensibility Timeline
The Defensibility Timeline is a chronological record of governance activity in your organisation — who did what, when, and what it related to. It includes policy adoption, check-ins, vendor reviews, incident actions, asset changes, and other governance events. Asset actions also appear in each asset's own activity panel.
Open the Compliance workspace and select Defensibility Timeline. Scan recent activity to confirm it reflects what your team has been doing. Use the timeline as evidence when explaining your governance practice to auditors, insurers, or stakeholders.
The timeline is your defensibility narrative — it shows that governance is being actively maintained, not stitched together after the fact. A consistent activity stream is one of the strongest signals of a mature compliance posture.
Use the timeline alongside the Evidence Vault during audits and insurance renewals. Where the Vault answers "what proof do you have?", the timeline answers "what did you actually do, and when?".
