Reviewing and retiring assets
Each asset can have a review date so the register stays current. The activity panel on each asset shows what happened over time — creation, edits, ownership changes, posture changes, vendor and evidence link changes, retire and restore actions.
When an asset record is confirmed accurate, mark it reviewed — the next review date updates automatically. When an asset is no longer in use, retire it; retired assets are hidden from the default list but can be restored later.
A register that is never reviewed becomes stale and unreliable. Marking reviews and retiring decommissioned assets keeps the register trustworthy for audits, incident response, and reporting.
Asset review dates surface in Cadence, so upcoming reviews can be planned alongside policy and vendor reviews. Retired assets do not appear in cadence.
