Recording an incident

What this is

An incident is a real-world security event — a data breach, system outage, phishing attempt, policy violation, or near-miss. The Incidents tab tracks these through to resolution with a full audit trail.

What to do

Open the Incidents tab and click "Record incident". Enter a title, select the type and severity, describe what happened, and link any related governance documents. The incident is timestamped and assigned to you by default.

Why it matters

Documenting incidents proves your organisation responds to events — not just policies on paper. Unrecorded incidents are invisible to auditors and create liability. Open incidents contribute to your Exposure score.

What happens next

Assign the incident, track investigation progress, and document the resolution. Each status change is recorded in the audit trail. Resolved incidents become part of your compliance evidence.
