Managing incident resolution

What this is

Each incident has a status: Open, Investigating, or Resolved. Managing resolution ensures events are followed up and closed rather than forgotten.

What to do

Open an incident to view its details. Update the status as the incident is investigated and resolved. Add notes at each stage to document what was done. Assign to the appropriate team member.

Why it matters

An organisation that logs incidents but never resolves them is worse off than one that does not log them at all. Resolution tracking demonstrates a complete incident management process.

What happens next

Resolved incidents remain in your evidence archive. The ratio of open to resolved incidents is visible on your compliance overview.
